My passion for the beauty industry has always been a part of my life, but became my career at the age of 18. I started my education and worked endless hours. I was obsessed and committed to perfect my skills and educate myself in all aspects in the industry. In 2011, I worked in one of Toronto's high end salons Jolie Beauty Bar. Here I learned and was exposed to the business side and what it took to run a beauty salon. At this time the beauty industry exploded and was evolving quickly. I was excited and wanted to be apart of it all. During this time I took every opportunity to expand and learn more. Private trainings throughout Toronto, LA and New York while juggling my salon full time position and home clients. I was driven to take my own path eventually. My dream was always to have a place of my own. I dreamt of a space that would provide a variety of services and care. Empowered by my success I was able to open Mel's Beauty Lounge at the age of 26, with no partners, and no other employees. With time my team came together, I carefully selected individuals with the same passion for the beauty industry and who had the desire to grow. As a senior Make Up artist, Lash Artist, Body Contour Specialist and Master Nail Technician. My Dream was to create my own brand and wanting to branch out into products and training. I wanted to develop safe, quality products easily available to my clients and students. I am here because I love what I do! I want to provide confidence not only to my clients but also my students.

Wise Words

When I first started my education in the beauty industry, I was intrigued by all avenues and I took courses in everything I could to know what I was gravitated to most. To see what I was going to be more skillful in. I had a teacher (one I looked up to very much at the time) say to me in a laughing tone "Don't try to be a jack of all traits, you'll be a master in nothing'. That stuck with me, and rather than put me feeling discouraged all it did was make me want to prove that statement wrong. I stand here today, "Master" of many skills and this is what lead me to want to educate. I believe you can do whatever you want! with the drive, proper support and education there is no limit to your skill and success.
